Beatport has introduced a novel tool aimed at facilitating creative partnerships between musicians. Dubbed the Artist Network, it is powered by the demo submission platform LabelRadar, which Beatport procured earlier in the year.
Artist Network seeks to streamline the process of identifying compatible artistic allies for collaboration. Musicians can provide information on preferred genres, geographical locations, languages and digital audio workstations to get matched with others exhibiting creative alignment. They can also specify preferences for remote, in-person or blended working methods to surmount geographical boundaries.
Derek Clark, Director of Product Management at Beatport and founding father of LabelRadar, commented that pioneering spirit lies at the core of their goal to empower artists. He believes Artist Network will substantially enhance their platform by furnishing musicians with effective means to connect, collaborate, and thrive as never before.
Statistics show 68% of artists struggle to locate cooperative collaborators. Artist Network aims to address this problem by allowing users to augment output, reach new audiences, and develop professionally through teaming up with others.
Artist Network adds to a rising phenomenon of collaborative platforms as Lemonaide launched their Club Collab last month and Submix rolled out remote audio working tools following an investment round. Beatport is equally focused on boosting DJ communities through a cooperative channel with live streaming provider Twitch.
