Sources say Jennifer Lopez had quite the wish list for the celebrity cameos in her highly-released film and album This Is Me…Now. But according to the new behind-the-scenes documentary, not all of her dream casting picks were able to commit.
In an inside look at JLo’s process available now on Amazon, we learn just how ambitious her vision was. While the finished product boasts major names like Jane Fonda, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Post Malone, insiders say JLo had her sights set on even more high-profile stars.
Multiple sources tell us Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Lizzo were all on Lopez’s radar. And it doesn’t stop there: even hunky actor Jason Momoa and comedic queen Jennifer Coolidge were approached! The documentary also reveals Snoop Dogg, Vanessa Hudgens, and Khloe Kardashian were considered for roles but ultimately didn’t sign on.
But don’t shed any tears for JLo – she remains confident in her final assemblage. As she said with a sly smile, “They were giving me a list of all these amazing people, and I was like, ‘Yes, I like all of those people, but that’s not what I want,’ My first people were Jenifer Lewis and Jane Fonda.”
While some were doubtful of her unorthodox vision, Lopez persisted. “they needed to trust me, and at the end of the day, I think it was a big leap of faith for some of them” she laughed. So it seems JLo called all the shots on this one – and got exactly the eclectic crew she envisioned. Only time will tell if her ambitious casting gamble pays off!
