Sabrina Carpenter has revealed what it was like opening for powerhouse performer Taylor Swift on her recent Eras tour. In a conversation with Variety magazine, Carpenter said working with Swift left no doubt that “Taylor is a rockstar!”.
The comment came as Carpenter browsed albums at a local record store and spotted Swift’s latest chart-topping release filed under rock music. “She’s just such a gangster with all of it. No matter what people are saying, everything that I’ve ever seen her tackle, she’s done so with grace,” Carpenter admired of Swift’s abilities.
Getting to open for one of pop’s biggest acts was a “dream come true” for Carpenter. The 25-year-old revealed that Swift has become “one of my best, best friends, and we grab dinner or text and catch up like you would with your best friend.” The two frequently grab dinner together and keep in touch over text.
Carpenter is now gearing up for the August release of her sixth studio album “Short n’ Sweet”. She views it as the “older, cooler sister” to last year’s “Emails I Can’t Send” and truly her own as an independent artist with full creative control.
