Rising rap star Ice Spice has announced plans to drop her first full-length studio album this year. The Bronx native, who dropped a new viral hit “Think U the S— (Fart),” revealed the news during an appearance on NBC’s Today show.
Ice Spice told hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager that fans can expect her highly anticipated debut record, titled “Y2K,” to land in 2024. She’s almost finished, with it and is excited that her fans will finally be able to hear the full project. While no firm release date was given, the rapper hinted more details will be coming soon.
The 24-year-old, who celebrates her birthday on New Year’s Day 2000, took her name and album concept from her Y2K origins. Referencing the end-of-the-millennium digital panic, she transports listeners back to that era of carefree teen spirit with her refreshing sound.
Just days prior, Ice Spice treated fans to the music video for her sassy new single “Think U the S— (Fart).” Shot in her hometown of Miami, the vivid visual showed her cruising the city in luxury whips, flashing stacks of cash, and twerking with her crew along the waterfront.
2024 is shaping up to be a potentially huge year for the rising talent, who recently scored nominations at the upcoming Grammys. With “Y2K” on the horizon and more high-profile collaborations and performances in store, Ice Spice is primed to cement her status as a breakout star to watch. Fans can’t wait to hit play on her debut full-length very soon.
