Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, is embroiled in a legal battle over a decades-old sexual assault allegation. A woman has accused Carter and music executive Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexually assaulting her when she was 13 years old at a VMAs afterparty in 2000.

However, Carter’s legal team is fiercely disputing the woman’s account, citing numerous inconsistencies and impossible details. They argue the woman’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, failed to properly vet the allegations before filing the lawsuit.

Carter’s team has filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit, and are seeking sanctions against Buzbee, claiming he recklessly pursued the “highly explosive case.” Buzbee has fired back, saying he won’t be “bullied or intimidated” and will address the “utter lack of merit” in court.

The escalating legal battle has thrust the music industry into turmoil, with Carter vowing to vigorously defend himself against what he calls an “idiotic” attempt at blackmail.
