Celine Dion has shared her feelings about the use of her hit love song “My Heart Will Go On” at a Donald Trump rally.
According to that Dion release, she first learned that the pop hit was being played at various Trump gatherings this year, with an explicit call-out of its playing at his April gathering in Bozeman, under a week ago.
Representatives for Dion’s management and record label Sony Music Canada filed notice that “In no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use. …”
Dion’s press release took the spoof in good nature and humoredly questioned whether her romantic ballad from Titanic was arguably the best choice for the dealings of the Trump campaign; one of the best touting selling singles had set foot on the marketplace.
Perhaps the single-songstress’s ditty had others in which way it would like its relationship with the public to be spun. With its grand strings and lyrics of eternal love, the song hardly fits the bill for rallies designed to pump up loyalist voters. Dion’s comment of “And really, THAT song?” playfully pointed out how badly the musical choice truly hit.
Legal threats were not issued, but the message was pretty clear that any future use by unauthorized parties would not be appreciated.
