BTS member Min Yoongi, known by his stage name Suga, has once again apologized to fans (ARMY) for his recent electric scooter incident while intoxicated. In a handwritten letter posted to Weverse, the 31-year-old expressed deep remorse for disappointing fans and causing confusion with his initial apology shortly after the incident.
Yoongi described the events of August 6th, admitting he made a mistake by operating the electric scooter after consuming alcohol, losing sight of his responsibility to fans who have supported him greatly. He acknowledged this was a severe lapse in judgment that understandably upset many.
Yoongi stated the incident has damaged precious memories made with fellow BTS members and fans, adding immense pressure to the group’s reputation. He felt truly sorry for letting down the members who had always trusted him, as well as fans who must have felt dismay.
Police said Yoongi drove the scooter above the legal alcohol limit in Seoul and subsequently had his license revoked. In questioning, he acknowledged the charges of driving under the influence. Yoongi’s company Big Hit also addressed the situation, noting safety precautions taken but recognizing the serious legal issues.
In his latest statement, Yoongi humbly asked fans for forgiveness, aware that words alone cannot heal the disappointment caused. He continues reflecting deeply with regret, willing to accept accountability and sanctions. Yoongi apologized profusely for disappointing many through his actions and creating societal controversy.
